In 2010, Loctudy’s harbour is directly impacted by the fleet exit plan and lost the ¾ of its seagoing ships. Facing this situation, wholesale fish merchants and fishermen got together to find a solution.
The syndicate Loctudy Pôle pêche, which regroups the wholesale fish merchants, has used a fund previously constituted to create the fishing fleet Hent ar Bugale.
The objectives, to maintain high seas fishing in Breton Cornwall, and to stop the phenomenon of ships escape to other regions.
That is how in 2010, Hent ar Bugale begin its activity with Hent ar Mor. Between 2010 and 2016, these are 6 seagoing ships which will be bought.
Today, the fishing fleet employs about 40 seamen, and 3 employees ashore.
